Carlyle is fascinated with babies and young children, and has always had “the touch” that gets them to settle down and sleep well. Many clients remark that her calm presence and gentle humor have helped ease them into the task of early parenthood.
Having raised children of her own, run a home daycare, taught in preschool and toddler classes, and worked in baby childcare center environments, her experience with little ones covers a broad range of situations.
Carlyle is a CAPPA trained and certified Postpartum Doula, and has worked with hundreds of babies and new families. She also works as a Birth Doula, having trained and volunteered at UC San Diego Medical Center’s Hearts & Hands Volunteer Doula Program. She has been teaching Newborn Care to expectant parents at UC San Diego Medical Center for five years, since moving to San Diego from Denver, Colorado. She is a certified Montessori Educator for ages birth to three, and worked in a Montessori Toddler/ Preschool environment for more than ten years.
While her expertise is extensive, she is committed to only sharing knowledge and information in ways that respect and honor the philosophy or approach that each parent has for their own unique family situation, understanding there is no one way to parent.
